Jumeirah Beach Wayfinding Project

Project Overview

In one of the most high profile public realm projects in the city, Dubai Municipality selected RIZQ Group to design and implement an extensive wayfinding system for the Jumeirah Beach coastline. This wasn't just a signage project, it was a competition of excellence. After reviewing designs from numerous firms, our concepts were selected to be the official standard rolled out across Dubai’s beaches ensuring a unified and world-class visitor experience.

Project Scope

Selected Master Design: Concept development chosen as the city wide standard for Dubai beaches.
Strategic Wayfinding: Massive multi location rollout across the entire Jumeirah coastline.
Marine Grade Fabrication: Specialized material selection for high-salinity and high-UV coastal environments.
Coastal Mapping: Precise coordinate-based installation for every individual sign unit.

This project represented a "Perfect Storm" of technical, regulatory and environmental complexities:

Multi-Government Coordination: Operating on the shoreline required simultaneous approvals and alignment with Dubai Municipality, Dubai Culture and the RTA. Due to the critical nature and tight timeline, the work was split between the UAE's leading signage vendors, with RIZQ Group taking a primary role.
Stringent Marine Controls: Since installations were located directly on the beach, every sign required approval from the Marine Control Department. Additionally each sign’s exact GPS coordinates were logged and integrated into the government’s central system for future asset management.
Extreme Material Constraints: Standard signage materials degrade quickly in coastal air. We utilized exclusively marine-grade materials engineered to resist corrosion from salt spray, withstand intense UV exposure and remain stable in shifting sand conditions.
Public Safety in "Live" Tourist Hubs: Working on active, high traffic beaches required strict safety protocols. Our teams operated with precision to ensure the safety of visitors, tourists and swimmers while maintaining a clean and hazard-free environment.

The result is a seamless high durability navigational experience that has redefined the visual landscape of Jumeirah Beach. By winning the design competition and successfully navigating the complex web of municipal, cultural and marine regulations, RIZQ Group has proven its ability to lead the most demanding government infrastructure projects in the UAE.
